A growth mindset is the most powerful tool a child can have for tackling challenges and opportunities they’ll encounter in life.
At Neuron Garage, Campers get hands-ons, repurposing their recycling to solve fun, weekly engineering challenges. Through the process, they have fun, make new friends, and develop a growth mindset.

Join us for one week, multiple weeks, or the whole summer!
Each week presents a new, specific challenge to keep the engagement and effort high, and another opportunity for your children to practice the tools that will help them build a Growth Mindset.
This week, campers will work creatively within constraints to turn recycled materials into a functioning arcade. From design to building and testing, they’ll think like inventors — and celebrate their accomplishments by playing each other’s games.
What rides can you create with tubes, tapes and other recycled materials? Campers will design and build miniature rides and roller coasters — experimenting with drops, loops, and clever mechanisms as they test and refine their creations. It’s one wild ride of creativity and problem-solving.
Can you build a castle with a working drawbridge? Or design a catapult that fires with precision? Campers will dive into the world of pulleys, levers, and medieval engineering to defend their cardboard kingdoms with creativity and cunning.
From simple sock puppets to meticulous marionettes, there are endless possibilities when designing puppets. Along with puppets, this week campers will have the opportunity to design and build sets, and write and perform short skits.
If you could wake up tomorrow in any home, what would it look like? Campers will dream, design, and build miniature homes — complete with furniture, décor, and all the details to make it the home of their dreams.
How high can your tower go? How much weight can your bridge hold? This week, campers will take on a series of building challenges with limited resources and unlimited creativity.
Can you dream up something that solves a problem — or just makes life more fun? This week, campers will turn ideas into action as they design, build, test, and refine their own inventions. Along the way, they’ll discover that every success and setback is just another step toward innovation.

I just finished my 25th year in education, having taught elementary grades, special education and, more recently, gifted education. My most recent teaching experience in gifted education has allowed me to teach STEAM and focus on students learning with a growth mindset.
Neuron Garage interests me because of how it is based on these two things and allows children to learn while they play. I’m most excited about bringing the Neuron Garage experience to LeafSpring this summer because of how much fun both the guides and the campers have during the week!
