Weekly Challenges

Join Us for One Week, an Entire Session, or the Whole Summer!

Each week presents a new challenge to keep the engagement and effort high, and another opportunity for your children to practice the tools that will help them build a Growth Mindset.

Amusement Parks

From roller coasters and Ferris wheels to carnival rides and games, this session is equal parts play and design. Campers will get hands on, turning trash into treasure, as they construct from cardboard and other materials that would normally end up in their recycling bins.

June 16-20

Rides & Roller Coasters

What kind of adventure park can you create with toilet paper tubes and tape – and loads of other recycled goods? This week, campers will design, build, and refine miniature rides and rollercoasters.

Secret Agents

Campers team up as Secret Agents this session with a new mission each week. Using cardboard, masking tape, and whatever else they can find in their recycling bins, along with plenty of creativity and perseverance, they will build ziplines, rockets and submarines to transport top-secret messages, facing exciting obstacles along the way.

Time Travel

With piles of recycling, plenty of tape and hot glue, and a healthy dose of imagination, campers will travel back in time and forward into the future to solve a new challenge each week.

July 7-11

Medieval Times: Castles & Catapults

Can you build a castle with a working drawbridge? Can you design a catapult that fires accurately enough to defend against intruders? This week, campers will use two simple machines — pulleys and levers — along with lots of imagination to build castles, complete with offense and defense systems.

ONLINE SUMMER CAMP FAQS

In addition to hands-on building, campers will play interactive games led by our instructors and on-line board games to develop individual friendships, engage in group discussions, and participate in plenty of movement activities and games.

Campers will be with a live instructor throughout their day. Instruction and activities will be adapted to each camper and each group, just as they would be at in-person camps.

Our goal is for parents not to be involved with their children’s camp day. However, depending on a child’s level of independence and fluency with technology, they may need additional guidance or redirection that we are not able to provide virtually.

We hire college students and graduates with a passion for education and child development, and a love of learning and summertime. Every team member is background checked and trained to deliver the Neuron Garage curriculum in a supportive environment, whether that be in-person or online.

If your child does not want to return for a second week, your first week is free. Seriously. Each week at Neuron Garage is another opportunity to practice and apply the tools and strategies that build a Growth Mindset. One week is great, but practice is essential, so multiple weeks are better. We want to make sure that our Campers come back summer after summer and work hard to create a positive experience.
